Pretty Eyes

The shock still hasn’t worn off
You’re in that place where you’re still not sure it really happened
You’re panicking inside and you’ve been scarred far beyond repair

You pick up the phone and dial
He comes to your side
You feel a small lift in your mood

The two of you talk
You laugh a little
You dispense the whole unpleasant tale

You feel a little better and a lot calmer

He plays you some music
He talks to you about his thoughts and feelings
He captivates and intrigues you

But he notices that you’re still not completely okay

He gives you a small kiss
Then a big hug
You hold on for dear life

When he releases you, you look up
There go the pretty blue eyes
There’s that smile with the dimples you love so much

You’re comfortable because you know he is too
It’s another form of freedom you’re sure you have
And now, you know you’ll be fine.

"Angel For Christmas"

This is a song based on a beautiful melody that a fellow (and now close friend) named Michael Melton composed and along with me and my friend, Angelina helping with lyrics, turned into a Christmas song for my brother, Joey.  Here are the lyrics.  When it's finally recorded, I'll put that up as well....

Bring me an angel for christmas this year

To cast out the darkness if hope turns to fear

'Cause I'm here now and some nights I'm not sure how the day began

So send my an angel just someone to hold my hand

I've used up my courage I've shed every tear

And here I am pleading that someone will hear

My heart beating I have not disappeared

So bring me an angel, an angel for christmas this year

Each day when I wake up to make up my face

Beside me there's always that same empty space

Now the days have grown colder I'm not happy living on my own

Please send me an angel, I'm tired of being alone

This christmas is different, there's change in the air

How perfect it will be when someone is there

In the night when I’m walking I can feel the magic everywhere

I know that you're out there, my angel, my life is your's to share
